Hello, my name is Dr. Laszlo BUDA. I’m a doctor, psychiatrist, and psychotherapist, and I’ve spent over 25 years helping people with their physical and mental challenges. In Hungary, I’m known as the inventor and instructor of SomatoDrama® and Ultrabrief Therapy®. I’ve written three books along with many other articles and studies. I also frequently give talks about body-soul connection, self-healing, and break free from neurosis and self-sabotage.
My goal is to share knowledge that can help people lead harmonious and fulfilling lives. I believe it’s essential for those who want to understand how awareness and responsible self-care relate to their overall well-being to have access to information that can inspire them to help themselves and others.
I’m excited to bring these ideas to Canada this autumn with a series of workshops. In these sessions, I’ll introduce you to the core principles of SomatoDrama® and Ultrabrief Therapy®, show you how these methods can be applied in real life, and share some of my most valuable therapeutic experiences. I’ll also explain how you can learn these methods in the future if you are eager to learn new tools to help others and yourself.
Thank you for your interest — I look forward to meeting you.
Laszlo BUDA, MD, PhD.

“I really appreciate how you lead these weekends, the way you talk about things, how relatable you are, and how you treat everyone equally without putting yourself above anyone else! I respect your knowledge, experience, and honesty, and I consider myself very fortunate to have participated you in two of these sessions. There’s so much to learn from you, and I hope I can do that again in the future!” Rita

“I appreciated the spirit of the training, the credibility of László and his colleagues. I found it very useful that we did not just discuss the techniques, but also experienced them firsthand by trying them on ourselves. What I’ve learned here fits well into my professional work, especially when dealing with deeply ‘stuck’ feelings.” Nicholas

Unread Messages from Body and Soul: SomatoDrama® & Ultrabrief Therapy® Modern, Effective Self-Healing and Therapeutic Approaches in Practice

Our biology is also our biography. Our body reflects our emotions, thoughts, memories, relationships, and conflicts. It reveals our entire life story – and often, the stories of our parents and ancestors. If we want to decipher the messages our symptoms are sending us, if we want to heal, we must learn to communicate with our body, have a personal experience of how to address it, and understand how it responds to us in its unique “language.” The body never lies. Its mode of communication is clear, powerful, profoundly personal – and yes, often painful and relentless. At the same time, it’s always ready to help us understand and change something essential.
The foundation of communicating with the body and successful self-healing is being at peace with ourselves. However, this is far from a given in our culture. Since such material is not included in standard education, as adults, we often have to learn from scratch how to develop self-compassion, complete self-acceptance, and healthy self-love. Today, a flood of research supports the notion that these skills significantly impact our health and every area of our lives, from our general well-being and emotional relationships to the trajectory of our professional paths.
“As a thinking person, I consider my primary task to be understanding the connection between body and soul as comprehensively as possible. As a doctor and psychotherapist, I aim to use this knowledge as effectively as possible to aid my patients’ healing. As an educator, I strive to distill all this into practical, teachable methods (such as SomatoDrama® and Ultrabrief Therapy®) and pass them on. As a writer and speaker, I aim to share everything I have experienced and understood over the past decades in every possible way.”
